About Terri
Terri Bennett is a nationally recognized Earth Scientist and mom. Through TerriBennett.com and her "Do Your Part" initiative, Terri is generating eco-friendly solutions and practical information to inspire each of us to tread lightly by reducing our eco-footprint on Earth.
For more than 16 years, Terri provided nightly weather forecasts to the people living in the Charlotte, NC television market. She was also the first female Chief Meteorologist in the region. The Radio and Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas named Terri "Best Weathercaster in the Carolinas" numerous times. Her work during Hurricanes Floyd and Frances earned her two prestigious Mid-South Regional Emmys for Excellence. In January of 2008, Terri received the "Excellence in Science Reporting by a Broadcast Meteorologist Award" from the American Meteorological Society for the WaterWise franchise she developed. From 2004 to 2007, she also penned a daily newspaper column, "Earth, Stars and Skies" in the Charlotte Observer newspaper where she answered readers' questions about all things science.
In September of 2007, TerriBennett.com was launched to serve as the single source of Terri's knowledge and expertise. "Do Your Part" was born out of Terri's passion to help others understand how easy, economical and important it is to tread a little lighter on the planet.

"Do Your Part" videos can be seen every Monday on CharlotteObserver.com. Terri also writes a weekly blog for MomCharlotte.com and has regular columns in several regional magazines.
Terri is married and together with her husband Andy, have two children at home, a married son and daughter-in-law, two dogs, two rabbits, a hamster and a backyard pond filled with goldfish.
