Autobell Carwash
Washing the car is a weekly ritual for many. A clean car makes you feel better, the car lasts longer and it’s worth more when you decide to trade it in. When you wash your car in the driveway, the runoff will flow downhill to the nearest storm drain where it will eventually end up in the large lakes that provide us with clean drinking water. The runoff isn’t made up of just soap and water, there’s oil and gas residue, dirt and grime and brake dust that can kill aquatic ecosytems or contaminate our water supply.
You can Do Your Part for your car and our water supply when you take your car to Autobell, a full service carwash facility that recycles its water.
A typical 10 minute backyard car wash can use up to 150 gallons of water and send a hazardous concoction into the nearest storm drain. President of Autobell Carwash Chuck Howard tells us their facilities use much less water “it takes about 8 to 20 gallons of water per car to wash a car at Autobell. Now we are using a lot more water but the rest of the water is recycled."
In fact 80 to 100% of the water Autobell uses to wash cars is recycled, and the water they don’t recycle is treated before overflowing into the city sanitary system.
According to Howard, "Autobell has always been in the water management business obviously because it is a major ingredient of what we do and we have recycled our wash water almost from day one. We are very concerned about water quality and where the water goes after its used and how we can most efficiently reuse the water"
When you take your car to Autobell you’ll be doing your part to conserve water and prevent pollution from reaching our drinking water supply.
"Everybody loves a clean car and it’s just an easy way to accomplish it" said Howard.
