Back To School Part 3 - Eco-Friendly Lunchboxes
. Do your part by choosing an environmentally friendly lunch box.
First, a reuseable bag is always a better choice than the brown paper bag. Keep your eyes open you for lunchboxes made of recycled materials. If you don’t need to keep anything cool, you can opt for an organic cotton bag.
You also want to invest in some reuseable containers. Think about what the kids like for lunch and buy the appropriately sized containers. Keep in mind that it all needs to fit in the lunchbox.
The beverage container can also be reuseable. If you reach for a prepackaged solution, make sure the container is recycled at school or brought home to be recycle.
If you don’t want to chance loosing your nice silverware then buy a few inexpensive utensils and pack those instead of the plastic alternatives.
And lastly the napkin should be cloth or made of a high post consumer content recycled paper. I like write notes on my kids napkins so I go for the paper.
Believe me your kids love to brag about eco-friendly choices! Packing lunch is an easy way to do your part and its often a healthier solution. When you pack with reuseable or recycled products you are reducing waste and conserving natural resources. You’ll also find that you’re saving money in the long run too!
