Treating Pet Smells and Accidents....Naturally
Bringing home a new puppy can bring in much more than sloppy kisses. Unfortunately, accidents are part of the bargain but instead of using harsh cleaning products try doing your part by opting for vinegar and baking soda.
As much as we all wish potty training was intuitive, puppies are bound to have accidents.
According to the EPA, many pet stain cleaners on the market harbor harmful volatile organic compounds that contribute to the air pollution in your home and the environment. Improper disposal can even affect the surrounding wildlife if it gets into the water.
Instead of using store bought cleaners, use white vinegar. Let it soak for about 10 minutes, blot the area dry until you can no longer draw any moisture from the carpet.
And does Fido have a favorite place on the rug. If it starts to smell like Fido even when he’s not around then sprinkle a little baking soda on the offending area. Let it set for 15 minutes then vacuum clean.
Baking soda is also a great quick fix for a smelly dog. Sprinkling his coat with baking soda being careful to keep it away from his eyes. Rub it in ...then brush clean. Be sure you get all of the powder out.
When you use vinegar and baking soda you are doing your part to keep harmful chemical out of your home. They are natural alternatives to smelly problems and their cheap too!
