When you go shopping for new appliances, you will notice the Energy Star symbol on some products. You can do your part by knowing what the symbol means and how it can save you money.
Energy Star is a government program created by the EPA and the DOE. The energy star symbol means that the product has passed stringent rules to save natural resources and use less energy that of course means you save money too.
For example, Energy Star recognizes different brands of washers, dishwashers and other appliances that are energy efficient. Even a new home can get an Energy Star rating.
