Charlotte is an oasis for environmental education.  You can do your part by teaching the future protectors of our environment (our kids) how amazing this planet is. This is easily accomplished by taking advantage of unique resources we have right here in the Charlotte metro area. Here are just a few to get you started!

Want to walk through a rain forest and then the desert? You can do both at the UNCC Botanical Gardens. The gardens are open to the public and a great place for kids to learn about the Carolinas’ native plants.

At the Carolina Raptor Center, your kids will have the chance to see a baby bald eaglet that was born this past March.  You can also learn about raptors, endangered species and the environment.

The  Latta Plantation offers children an education on ecology and the environment, as do the other county nature centers at McDowell and Reedy Creek Nature Preserves.

You can walk through a butterfly pavilion and so much more at The Charlotte Nature Museum at Freedom Park.

Or walk through a 4 acre garden and bird sanctuary  in the heart of Charlotte at Wing Haven Gardens.

Instilling a love for the planet  in your children is a great way to do your part by investing the earth’s future!
