Turning off the water when you brush your teeth can save more than 2000 gallons a year per person in your home.

Installing a low flow shower head can save more than 10,000 gallons per person a year!

Many homes still have the old style shower heads that use up to 6 gallons of water a minute.  Newer, low flow shower heads can cut that number in half and some even use just 2.5 gallons of water.  Some models even have a feature to shut off the water temporarily while you shave or shampoo.

You won’t notice the difference between the two shower heads while your bathing but you will quickly notice the difference in your water bill.  If you switch from a water hungry shower head to a low flow shower head in Mecklenburg County you can save $85 a year on your water bill.  And that's for each person that showers daily in your home.

Do your part and install a low flow shower head in every bathroom.  You’ll be conserving water and protecting the green in your wallet at the same time.
