Drought continues across the area and this latest round of hot, dry weather is sure to make conditions even worse.  We all need to be mindful of conserving water and here is one simple way to do your part.

Turn the water off while you brush your teeth!  The bathroom faucet releases about 3 gallons of water every minute.  For a family of four that brushes their teeth twice a day for one minute - you'd see a savings of  8700 gallons of water every year.  All from not letting the water run while you brush your teeth.

And here’s another incentive.  If this family of four lived in Mecklenburg County they’d  save $60 dollars a year on their water bill.  In Gaston county they’d save more than $90 a year and in Mooresville they’d save more than $125 dollars! Why different savings?  Each municipality charges different rates for water.

So do your part to conserve our most precious natural resource and save money too!
